Rainbow Days gives children hope for a promising future by providing them with the skills and support they need to make healthy choices, stay drug free and believe they have a purpose. Through an array of direct services including Rainbow Days’ own CBSG® Program, Classroom Presentations, Summer Camps, Family Outings and other Supportive Services, over 11,000 children and youth living in high-risk situations in the Dallas area learn life-changing skills and have the caring support from positive adult mentors as they benefit from Rainbow Days’ programs each year. Through our Trans4m Center, we expand the scope of our programs across the United States by training youth-serving professionals in our CBSG® Program and providing workforce development opportunities to thousands of participants each year. Through our work, Rainbow Days has positively impacted over a million children over the last 32 years.

Camp Bravo! Puts Homeless Children Center Stage!
During the month of July, Rainbow Days anticipates nearly 300 homeless children to attend a unique performing arts camp here in Dallas! Camp Bravo! invites deserving children currently residing in local shelters to explore creative arts and musical and theater programs, which many of them may not have access to in school or at home. Throughout the week, campers build props and attend dance, photography, pottery and music classes, all of which are used in their final production in front of a live audience. Participants also attend daily Rainbow Days’ award-winning Curriculum-Based Support Groups (CBSG®), focusing on important life skills such as coping with emotions, peer pressure, making healthy choices, and staying drug-free.

Back to School Event
For the last 24 years, the JCPenney Back to School Event has helped more than 700 homeless youth annually to enter their upcoming school year both excited and prepared. Through partnerships with corporations, community-based organizations and individuals, we are able to provide supplies and uniforms for deserving children! The majority of children we serve struggle in school for many reasons, but one is that they simply cannot afford to buy the necessary school supplies to complete homework assignments and participate fully in class. School-age attendees receive a brand new backpack filled with school supplies and a new school uniform at the annual event in August where they enjoy games, crafts, music and refreshments with their families. Sponsorships in particular are key to enabling us to continue hosting this wonderful event while providing a positive experience for the children and families that we serve. If you are interested in sponsoring a child or learning more, contact Director of Development, at 214-217-3811.
