Pot of Gold Luncheon

The 18th Annual Pot of Gold Luncheon raised over $250,000 in support for Rainbow Days' programs and services. More than 600 attendees gathered on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas to celebrate the luncheon and silent auction.

Founder/CEO Cathey Brown spoke with mother-daughter-duo, Jennifer and Rachel Arthur, who are Rainbow Days program participants. Speaking to the event's theme, "Every Child is a Story yet to be Told," Cathey asked Jennifer and Rachel to share their journey that brought them to Rainbow Days. Prior to the interview, the audience viewed the FOX 4 News clip featuring Rachel's excitement about going back to school.

Guests left inspired by keynote speaker, Jeannette Walls, New York Times Best Selling author and a true testament to overcoming adversity to achieve optimal success. The luncheon began and concluded with performances by children's entertainer, Eddie Coker, alongside the children of Rainbow Days performers.

Special thanks to Luncheon Co-Chairs, Brooke Andrews and Karen Currie, and Auction Chair Nicole Williams, as well as Members of the Pot of Gold Committee, Auxiliary of Rainbow Days, and the 2015 Pot of Gold Luncheon Sponsors, attendees, and volunteers who made the day a success!

JCPenney Back-to-School Celebration
For the last 24 years, the JCPenney Back to School Event has helped more than 700 homeless youth annually to enter their upcoming school year both excited and prepared. Through partnerships with corporations, community-based organizations and individuals, we are able to provide supplies and uniforms for deserving children! The majority of children we serve struggle in school for many reasons, but one is that they simply cannot afford to buy the necessary school supplies to complete homework assignments and participate fully in class. School-age attendees receive a brand new backpack filled with school supplies and a new school uniform at the annual event in August where they enjoy games, crafts, music and refreshments with their families. Sponsorships in particular are key to enabling us to continue hosting this wonderful event while providing a positive experience for the children and families that we serve. If you are interested in sponsoring a child or learning more, contact Director of Development, at 214-217-3811.
